“I created magical creatures, tall tales and impossible adventures throughout my childhood listening to my grandmother read stories to me. I acted out those stories to tedium scrambling through forests building little huts, creating wonderful messes at home and seeing magic e v e r y w h e r e.
I was never alone in my magical forest. With my imagination, movement, adventure and song I built a comforting, funtastic world.
But what happened next is what happens to most us. As I grew older I played less and less. Until I finally forgot the magical mossy forest of Augury Pines…
They say that children are born into this world to teach their parents. That is what happened to me: when I became a mother I remembered. I had not forgotten.
I have shared the Tales of a Fairy Dreamland with my six children as wonderful bedtime stories, educational adventures and magical games. The stories I told have passed on from one sibling to another, from child to child, by word of mouth. The fairytale world I created was brought to life by my children playing in it, in adventures we experienced together. I felt I was in the right place and we were happy together playing with dragons, in a way anything seemed possible once again.
I first introduced my fairytale world to the public through the Tinttu.com children’s fashion collection. But I kept the stories of Pomenia to myself, for over ten years. The time did not seem right to share them or perhaps I just was too frightened to show my world to the entire world. What if nobody else saw Pomenia? If nobody understood the secret fairytale forest of my childhood? But I was very wrong, there are more of us pomenians out there than I could have imagined. And it is time we experience the adventure together.
The magic of Pomenia can be shared and experienced together regardless of age, size, culture or title. The magic is already nesting on your palm. There it is. Adventures await – the door to the Fairy Dreamland of Pomenia has now been opened! Welcome!”
